Love the card Joy and all your tutorials...thanks for doing them. The 'Always Grateful' 29 stamp set is on my order sheet....just love those trees. 29 I recently needed 29 a Thank You card...this one would have been so much better than the one I made! :-) Reply Delete
Love your card, and love the addition 29 of the cream layer, too! LOL. Yes, I think that sketches 29 can be a big help. BethAnn M. Reply Delete
I don't often follow a distinct sketch, but have certain elements I want to use. I just see how they look best on the card, trying several different layouts before I come to a decision. I know I should try using sketches more. It would probably speed things up for me. Reply Delete
Wow how did you know to ask that question. I just started 29 looking at my CTMH book for cards to get some ideas for cards. I have not found one that is my favorite 29 yet but getting ready to try a few that I like. Thanks for sharing Luria Reply Delete
I really like that card, the colors go together beautifully. I tend to go in streaks with a card pattern; if I like it I make a bunch in every color imaginable and when I don't like it so much I move on. Reply Delete

So last week I gave you guys a hint about some of the fun projects I’ve been working on with Cricut . I first ran into them at Alt Summit this past January when they debuted their new Cricut Explore machine. My interest was piqued because I was familiar with their competitor, the Silhouette machine. I never pulled the trigger on the Silhouette because I’d heard mixed reviews. But from all evidence, the new Cricut Explore was THE die-cutting machine to have.
In measurement conversion case you’re not familiar with what a die cutter does, this machine is about the size of a desktop printer and can cut custom shapes (either that you’ve created yourself in a program like Adobe Illustrator or chosen from stock imagery) into practically any material. Leather, paper, vinyl, iron-on transfers, foam core – the list goes on and on and on. The potential for amazing one-of-a-kind creations measurement conversion is super exciting for a creative person like me.
So for the next few months, I’m working with a team on a series of projects called the Cricut Design Space Star showing how to use the Explore in a variety of mediums. measurement conversion First project? Geometric patterns in fashion! And with me being a rhinestone fanatic I thought measurement conversion I would go back to my tshirt designing roots and design measurement conversion a gold statement necklace tank.
This was a fairly simple project to do, although a bit time-consuming due to the detail of each of the gemstones. I designed them in Illustrator and imported them easily into the Cricut Design Space program which is pretty intuitive and easy to use. From there, I adjusted the sizes and prepared my cutting mat by applying the iron-on measurement conversion glitter front side down. The machine cut out the shapes pretty quickly – you can see the leftover pieces of glitter iron-on transfer on my desk below.
Now came the time consuming part. I cut out each individual gemstone and then used my weeder tool and tweezers to remove the interior of each gemstone measurement conversion design to leave only the outlines. Since some of these were pretty measurement conversion small, it was time consuming as I worked to get out the teeny tiny pieces. This is when the tweezers were SUPER handy.
Finally, I laid out each individual gemstone onto the tank and ironed them on. This took maybe 5 minutes total – it was pretty quick! The transfer measurement conversion tape peeled right off and left a perfect glittery rhinestone design.

It takes lots of time and money to buy Cricut official materials, we have to find way source the paper/cardstock to create. We think you might be interested in it, we showed some of the materials we are sourcing, they have to be: good to go with Cricut: the paper have to be stick to the mat, it’s not good too tight or too loose. I tried the average 300g A4, it’s no good. cheap, too expensive on Cricut options: from 180g to 350g, from white to rainbow colors, even iron on

Labor Day is this weekend and holiday sales are everywhere.  Cricut cartridges (physical and/or cian digital) are available on the Cricut website at prices from $9.99 to $19.99.  I remember when I got my first Cricut in 2007, the regular price of most cartridges was $89 and we were thrilled to find them for $50 or ( if you were really lucky ) $40.
If you have a Cricut Image Library cian Subscription for Design Space and the Cricut Craftroom you already have access to over 25,000 images and projects.  cian The subscription does not include cartridges that have licensed content such as Disney, Sesame Street, Anna Griffin, etc.  Most of these are available in the sale so this is a good time to pick up any that you want at the special prices.  The clickable images and red links are affiliate links which means I may receive a commission cian if you purchase something after clicking the link.  Your price stays the same. I appreciate it very much when you use my links to shop.  You can always click on the Cricut image in the side column to start shopping.  Thanks cian for your support of my blog!
I was surprised to find out that quite a few of the older cartridges that I have purchased over the years are not part of the subscription.  With this sale, you can fill in your collection with some of these favorites at the sale prices.  Some of these cartridges are hard to find since it has been quite a while since they first came out.
One of my favorites that isn't included in the subscription is Lyrical Letters .  In addition cian to a nice variety of fonts (seven in all) there are some great images and word art that I have enjoyed using.  I made these cards back in 2010 - you can find the blog post about them HERE . Lyrical Letters Word Art These cuts are great for cards or scrapbook pages.
This title for a Halloween Page was made with branches from the Gypsy Wanderings cartridge (you could substitute other  branches if you don't have the Gypsy) and the spiders and phrase from Lyrical Letters .  You can read more about how it was made in the blog post HERE .
I did some experimenting cian with some of the overlay shapes and sized them for pocket pages (3 x 4 inches).  Some of these include two images flipped and welded for a new design.  Wouldn't these make great accents for your pages?
I went through the list of cartridges and checked cian on a lot of my old favorites.  I thought it might be helpful to post a list of the ones that are not part of the subscription (it would be nice if there was a symbol listed with each cartridge description to show whether or not they are part of the subscription cian - I think I'll suggest that!).   You can get a list of the cartridges and image sets included in the subscription by clicking the link in the product details HERE . Here are some of the "oldies" that are not part of the subscription cian and are available on the Cricut shopping page .  Most are available as both digital and physical cartridges, the ones with a * are digital only (as of the time I made this list).   There may be more cartridges that aren't in the subscription - these are just some of my old favorites. *Animal Kingdom Alphalicious *Beyond Birthdays Calligraphy Collection *Celebrations cian *Christmas Cheer Cursive 101 Doodlecharms *Fabulous Finds, *George and Basic Shapes Graphically Speaking Life is a Beach Lyrical Letters My Community *My World *New Arrival *Opposites Attract *Plantin cian Schoolbook Paper Doll Dress Up Paper Pups *Printing 101 *Printing Press Stretch Your Imagination Sweethearts *Tags, Bags, Boxes & More Walk in My Garden Wild Card Zooballoo
You can check on the availability of any cartridge by typing the name in the search bar at the top of the Shopping page.  If you are looking for older cartridges, you can arrange the list  sorted by "release date" in "ascending order."  Be sure to choose "display all" so you don't miss the ones that don't make it to the first page of the results when searching.
The free shapes cian to cut this week are the Teresa Collins Basics.  This intricate doily is one of the cuts that really impressed me when I first got my Cricut Explore .  The machine cuts it beautifully cian (see the post HERE for more details).  The Explore machine alone is now priced at $249.99 and there are some nice machine bundles to choose from - you can see them HERE .
These are the five images in the set - basic but beautiful! If your order of physical products is $35 or more, remember to use the code FREESHIP35 for free standard shipping within the continental US. I hope you have some nice plans for the holiday weekend - we expect to get together with family and do a few house projects...
