Sleater-Kinney - No Cities to Love March 18, 2015, No Comments

? (Album - PIAS / Arts & Crafts metric Productions) Wash the sultry single "Hot Dreams' a harbinger for a new sound? Timber Timbre? We knew the Canadian folk trio hitherto still mainly from their dark, melancholic folk noir on previous albums? Timber metric Timbre and? Creep On Creepin metric 'On. Now Taylor Kirk suddenly sang about dancing with a black woman and waking from hot dreams, degenerating into a minute and a half constantly rousing duet between saxophone (guest metric contribution by Colin Stetson) and drums. In March, the rest of the album suddenly appeared unannounced on Spotify. It turns between sultry songs like 'Curtains ?!' ? and the title track is? also melancholy fifth album? Hot Dreams? metric still prevails at Timber Timbre.
Former filmmaker Taylor Kirk is such a musician who dares to stress just that little bit longer to build than usual. It is admirable that? Hot Dreams never a dull moment feels. This is due to changes in pace as in "The New Tomorrow", the fake guitar in the instrumental 'Resurrection Drive Part II', the cranking choir (including strings) in Run From Me "... so on. The aforementioned sultry metric duet 'Hot Dreams' / 'Curtains ?!' metric should go live for the swaying hips worry, while it seems almost inconceivable that I Am Kloot-like 'Grand Canyon' - with the chorus just a simple guitar line - not the next single from the album.
Timber Timbre has? Hot Dreams metric arguably her best album delivered so far. Folk noir and melancholic sounds of the Canadian trio we knew already from the last two records, but so alternately sultry and menacing as now sounded Taylor and his men never before. The David Lynch-like valve 'The Three Sisters' might better on a separate western soundtrack appropriate. Let's first see to awaken from this hot dreams.
